Job Description:
Customer Interaction: Greeting customers, listening to their concerns, and effectively communicating automotive issues and services in a clear and understandable manner.
Vehicle Inspection: Thoroughly examining customers’ vehicles to identify and understand any mechanical, electrical, or other issues that require attention.
Service Recommendations: Advising customers on necessary repairs, maintenance, and additional services based on the vehicle inspection and manufacturer’s recommendations.
Cost Estimation: Providing customers with detailed cost estimates for the recommended services and explaining the breakdown of costs.
Scheduling: Coordinating with the service technicians to schedule vehicle repairs and maintenance appointments based on availability and customer preferences.
Service Updates: Keeping customers informed about the status of their vehicles throughout the repair or maintenance process, including any delays or additional repairs that may arise.
Upselling and Sales: Suggesting additional services or products that align with customers’ needs and the vehicle’s requirements, aiming to increase revenue for the service department.
Invoicing and Payment: Preparing and presenting invoices to customers, explaining the services performed, and processing payments.
Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring that customers are satisfied with the services provided and addressing any complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed service records, including service history, repairs, and parts used, to facilitate future service visits and warranty claims.
Hours: M-F 7am-6pm, Saturday 8am-5pm
Experience/Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may prefer an associate degree or technical training).
Strong automotive knowledge and understanding of various vehicle systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers effectively.
Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and invoicing.
Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and empathy.
Service & retail sales and upselling skills.
Prior dealership experience is beneficial.
Previous Chevrolet, Cadillac & General Motors experience are a plus!
Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
